Originally from St. Louis, 100 Miles, the alias of L.A. hip-hop artist and self-taught producer Miles Ray-Burks, creates rap music and independent beat tapes of their own rhythmic style. With the collaboration of friend and producer Skylar Jones (aka Skylar’s Revenge), 100 Miles sparked their music career with the release of their first singles Crazy and Rock Bottom (2016). Quickly they fell in love with the creative process and fully immersed themselves in their own independent artistry, producing beats and transferring their poetry into rap schemes. In 2018, the artist self-released their first EP Muted Colors and performed it proudly at local venues. Influenced by artists similar to Kid Cudi, Saba, and Mick Jenkins, 100 Miles’ tracks range from low to high energies that display their own contemplative thought and celebration of triumph through emotional/physical turmoil Their most recent production White Space (2019) incorporates heavy lo-fi elements accompanied by poetic verses that not only share personal life experiences but comment on mental health struggles and anti-Black violence in Amerikkka. Their upcoming project, currently titled, “GRDN” will feature similar concepts with a new approach to vocal performance and production.

“My acts of revolution come from the heart. I speak with the intent to change and inspire. Art is a beautiful weapon."
